Be Their Voice – Who are we?

We are a Small Charity Organisation which started up after the deaths of Bethany Vincent and her son DJ. Through a combination of chance encounters and networking we have come together to meet the following objectives:

  • To raise awareness of domestic and relationship abuse through community events, youth engagement and education
  • To support and partner other organisations in East Lindsey
  • To provide financial and emergency support to victims of abuse

We hope that the work we do will help individuals – especially young people – avoid getting into or staying in a toxic relationship. We hope we can help people recognise when they are in one, and empower them to leave that relationship.

Justice for Bethany and DJ

The conviction and sentencing of Daniel Boulton for the murders of Bethany and DJ was a relief to us and to the families. We now need to leave a legacy for Bethany and DJ that means that other lives are not lost. There are many ways to lose your life to Domestic Abuse. Bethany and DJ paid the ultimate price , but many millions of others lose their lives due to the day to day misery of living with control and abuse. We will strive to make sure Bethany and DJ did not die in vain.

How To Spot Abusive Behavoir

It can be hard to identify signs of abuse early on in a relationship. The link below gives a good idea of what a toxic behavoir can feel like if you are in it, and good advice about how to get out. Remember – talk to friends and family who you can trust to be honest about how they see your partner. They could well already be concerned for you.
